AN ACT CONCERNING PARDONS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That part III of chapter 961 of the general statutes be amended to provide that any person who has successfully completed his or her period of parole and not committed a subsequent crime for a period of ten years shall be automatically entitled to a hearing before the Board of Pardons and Paroles for consideration of the granting of a pardon.

Statement of Purpose: 

To allow ex-offenders who have become productive members of society to secure a pardon and have their criminal record erased.
