KLARIDES, 114th Dist. SEN. MCKINNEY, 28th Dist. SEN. FASANO, 34th Dist. AN ACT CONCERNING THE IMPACT OF LEGISLATION ON JOBS AND THE ECONOMY. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to require at least ten bills reported favorably out of the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to finance, revenue and bonding during the 2011 to 2013 sessions be accompanied by a jobs impact statement that (1) estimates the effect of the bill on employment in the state, including the gain or loss of jobs, and (2) is prepared by the Office of Fiscal Analysis, in consultation with the Department of Economic and Community Development, using the REMI model. Statement of Purpose: To provide a more in-depth review of the effects certain legislation has on private businesses, the economy, and the state budget.
