| 23 | 23 | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: | |

| 25 | 25 | That sections 13a-144, 13a-149 and 13a-152 of the general statutes be amended to (1) increase the time by which a person who is injured on a defective highway, bridge, sidewalk, road or railing shall provide written notice of such injury to the applicable state, town, city, corporation, borough or party, in order to recover damages for such injury, from ninety days following the date of such injury to one hundred eighty days following the injured person's receipt of a completed police investigation report concerning the cause of such injury; and (2) provide that if a person dies or is cognitively impaired as a result of such injury, the notice may be given within one year of receipt of a completed police investigation report concerning the cause of such injury by the conservator of the person or estate or executor or administrator of the deceased person's estate. | |
