AN ACT CONCERNING RESIDENCY RESTRICTIONS FOR CERTAIN SEXUAL OFFENDERS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to provide that no person convicted of a violation of sexual assault in the first, second or third degree against a minor may establish a residence on or after the effective date of this act that is within two thousand feet of a public or private elementary or secondary school or a facility providing child day care services.

Statement of Purpose: 

To protect children by requiring persons convicted of the sexual assault of a child to reside at least two thousand feet away from a school or child care center.
