General Assembly Substitute Bill No. 6231 January Session, 2011 *_____HB06231HED___031611____* General Assembly Substitute Bill No. 6231 January Session, 2011 *_____HB06231HED___031611____* AN ACT CONCERNING THE DEVELOPMENT OF A GENERAL EDUCATION CORE OF COURSES TO ALLOW FOR THE SEAMLESS TRANSFER FROM THE REGIONAL COMMUNITY-TECHNICAL COLLEGE SYSTEM TO THE CONNECTICUT STATE UNIVERSITY SYSTEM AND THE UNIVERSITY OF CONNECTICUT. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2011) The regional community-technical college system, the Connecticut State University System and The University of Connecticut, in consultation with the Advisory Council on Student Transfer and Articulation established under section 10a-19a of the general statutes, shall develop a general education core of courses for which thirty academic credits shall be given by each regional community-technical college as part of its liberal arts and sciences programs and any other degree program designated as a transfer program. A student who graduates from any such transfer program and transfers to the Connecticut State University System or The University of Connecticut shall transfer thirty academic credits toward the general education core curriculum requirements of the Connecticut State University System or The University of Connecticut.
