AN ACT CONCERNING THE DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AND STATE SERVICES FOR SMALL BUSINESSES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. (NEW) (Effective from passage) Not later than January 1, 2012, the Commissioner of Economic and Community Development shall, within existing budgetary resources, establish a business cultivation and facilitation program. Such program shall require a commissioner's designee to work directly with businesses to assess each individual business's needs, identify available resources and state financial incentive programs available to such business, and facilitate the provision of available state services to such business.

Statement of Purpose: 

To require the Commissioner of Economic and Community Development to establish a business cultivation and facilitation program to assign individual staff members to work with businesses to assess their needs, identify available resources and incentive programs, and facilitate the provision of services to such businesses.
