AN ACT CONCERNING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF AN ELECTRONIC BUSINESS PORTAL AT THE OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY OF THE STATE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (NEW) (Effective January 1, 2012) The Commercial Recording Division of the office of the Secretary of the State shall establish an electronic business portal as a single point of entry for business entities for purposes of business registration pursuant to title 33 or 34 of the general statutes. Such portal shall provide explanatory information and electronic links provided by state agencies and quasi-public agencies, including, but not limited to, the Labor Department, the Workers' Compensation Commission, the Departments of Economic and Community Development, Administrative Services, Consumer Protection, Environmental Protection and Revenue Services, the Connecticut Development Authority, Connecticut Innovations, Incorporated, Connecticut Licensing Info Center, The United States Small Business Administration, the Connecticut Small Business Development Center and the Connecticut Economic Resource Center, for the purposes of assisting such business entities in determining permitting and licensure requirements, identifying state revenue responsibilities and benefits, and finding available state financial incentives and programs related to such entities' businesses. The information provided for purposes of business registration with the office of the Secretary of the State may be made available to state agencies and quasi-public agencies for economic development, state revenue collection and statistical purposes as provided by law.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:
