AN ACT AUTHORIZING MUNICIPALITIES TO INSTALL TRAFFIC SAFETY CAMERAS FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT PURPOSES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to (1) allow municipalities to install traffic safety cameras, with or without radar abilities, for use by any state or local police force to enforce traffic and speeding laws, and (2) allow any municipality opting for such traffic safety cameras to collect half of any revenue realized from such enforcement.

Statement of Purpose: 

To allow municipalities to install traffic safety cameras for the enforcement of traffic and speeding laws and to collect half of the revenue realized from such enforcement.
