2424 AN ACT CONCERNING THE DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS' AFFAIRS.

2626 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

2828 Section 1. (Effective from passage) The Commissioner of Veterans' Affairs shall conduct a study concerning the operation of the Department of Veterans' Affairs. The study shall include, but not be limited to, a comparison of the policies of the department with the policies of other states concerning: (1) The development and maintenance of a contact list for veterans and members of the armed forces, (2) the collection of employment statistics for veterans in the state, and (3) the effectiveness in providing information to veterans regarding benefits. Not later than January 1, 2012, the Commissioner of Veterans' Affairs shall report on such study to the select committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to veterans' affairs, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes.
