AN ACT CONCERNING AN EXEMPTION FROM THE SALES TAX FOR ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES PROVIDED TO BUSINESSES. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That subparagraph (I) of subdivision (37) of subsection (a) of section 12-407 of the general statutes be amended to exclude from the sales tax any environmental services provided to industrial, commercial or income-producing real property. Statement of Purpose: To remove the sales tax on environmental services to businesses, including cleanup of hazardous spills, evaluation of contamination and similar services, in order to prevent loss of business in such services to other states.
