2424 AN ACT CONCERNING THE STUDY OF ELECTRONIC TOLLS, HIGHWAY CONGESTION, SPECIAL TRANSPORTATION FUND EXPENDITURES AND REDUCTIONS TO THE MOTOR VEHICLE FUELS TAX.

2626 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

2828 Section 1. (Effective from passage) The Commissioner of Transportation shall conduct a study to analyze issues concerning the appropriateness of the state's highways for electronic tolls, including (1) congestion on the state's highways, (2) the ability of the Department of Transportation to limit the use of any revenue collected from such tolls for transportation purposes only, and (3) the reduction of the motor vehicle fuels tax after any establishment of such tolls. Not later than February 1, 2014, the commissioner shall report, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes, the findings of such study, and any other study conducted by the department concerning tolls in Connecticut, to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to transportation.
