AN ACT CONCERNING THE CRIMINAL PENALTY FOR CAUSING THE DEATH OF ANOTHER WITH A MOTOR VEHICLE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapter 952 and title 14 of the general statutes be amended to provide that any person convicted of murder or manslaughter involving the use of a motor vehicle or negligent homicide with a motor vehicle be sentenced to the term of imprisonment imposed for the associated offense, but be subject to a fine of twenty-five thousand dollars.
Statement of Purpose:
To increase the fine for persons convicted of causing the death of another with a motor vehicle.
