2421 AN ACT CONCERNING THE DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES AND OUT-OF-STATE PLACEMENT FOR CHILDREN UNDER THE PURVIEW OF SUCH AGENCY.

2623 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

28-Section 1. (Effective July 1, 2013) The Commissioner of Children and Families shall, within available appropriations, conduct a study to evaluate the current practices employed by the Department of Children and Families regarding the out-of-state placement of children under the purview of the department. The commissioner shall report, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes, the findings of such study to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to children on or before July 1, 2014.
