AN ACT CONCERNING THE DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES AND OUT-OF-STATE PLACEMENT FOR CHILDREN UNDER THE PURVIEW OF SUCH AGENCY.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (Effective July 1, 2013) The Commissioner of Children and Families shall, within available appropriations, conduct a study to evaluate the current practices employed by the Department of Children and Families regarding the out-of-state placement of children under the purview of the department. The commissioner shall report, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes, the findings of such study to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to children on or before July 1, 2014.

To evaluate the Department of Children and Families' policy regarding the placement of children outside the state of Connecticut.
