REP. CANDELORA, 86th Dist. REP. KLARIDES, 114th Dist. AN ACT RESTORING THE SALES TAX EXEMPTION FOR CLOTHING AND FOOTWEAR. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That section 12-412 of the 2014 supplement to the general statutes be amended to restore the clothing and footwear tax exemption as of April 1, 2014. One hundred sixty-seven million six hundred thousand dollars of the state's excess revenue shall be dedicated to pay for restoring the exemption. Statement of Purpose: To provide tax relief for those items that are essential to our residents' everyday lives.
