714 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

916 Section 1. (Effective October 1, 2014) (a) There is established a domestic workers task force. Such task force shall study issues involving domestic workers in the state and make recommendations for legislative initiatives to provide outreach and education services to domestic workers and employers of domestic workers in the state.

1118 (b) The task force shall consist of the following members:

1320 (1) The executive director of the Permanent Commission on the Status of Women, or the executive director's designee;

1522 (2) The Labor Commissioner, or the commissioner's designee;

1724 (3) The Attorney General, or the Attorney General's designee;

19-(4) The speaker of the House of Representatives, or the speaker's designee;
26+(4) One appointed by the house chairperson of the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to labor and public employees, who shall represent domestic workers in the state;

21-(5) The president pro tempore of the Senate, or the president pro tempore's designee;
28+(5) One appointed by the senate chairperson of the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to labor and public employees, who shall represent employers that employ domestic workers in the state;

31-(10) Five appointed by the chairpersons of the task force, two of whom shall be domestic workers employed in the state, two of whom shall be employers of domestic workers in the state and one of whom shall represent an organization that advocates for the rights of domestic workers employed in the state.
38+(10) The minority leader of the House of Representatives, or the minority leader's designee; and

3342 (c) Any member of the task force appointed or designated under subdivisions (4) to (11), inclusive, of subsection (b) of this section may be a member of the General Assembly.

3544 (d) All appointments to the task force shall be made not later than thirty days after the effective date of this section. Any vacancy shall be filled by the appointing authority.

3746 (e) The speaker of the House of Representatives and the president pro tempore of the Senate shall select the chairpersons of the task force from among the members of the task force. Such chairpersons shall schedule the first meeting of the task force, which shall be held not later than sixty days after the effective date of this section.

3948 (f) The administrative staff of the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to labor and public employees shall serve as administrative staff of the task force.

4150 (g) Not later than October 1, 2015, the task force shall submit, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes, a report on its findings and recommendations to the Governor, the Joint Committee on Legislative Management and the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to labor and public employees. The task force shall terminate on the date that it submits such report or October 1, 2015, whichever is later.
