2626 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

2828 That title 17b of the general statutes be amended to (1) require criminal background checks prior to employment offers for persons seeking any state position involving administering, managing or providing state assistance benefits, and (2) prohibit the hiring of any person for such position who has been convicted of a felony within five years of his or her job application.
