HOYDICK, 120th Dist. REP. MINER, 66th Dist. REP. O'NEILL, 69th Dist. AN ACT TO INCREASE PENALTIES FOR ILLEGAL USE OF ELECTRONIC BENEFIT TRANSFER CARDS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That title 17b of the general statutes be amended to increase vendor penalties for illegal use of electronic benefit transfer cards for public assistance to (1) a ban of not less than twelve months on participation in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program for a first violation, (2) a ban of not less than twenty-four months for a second violation, and (3) a permanent ban for the third violation. Statement of Purpose: To increase the penalties for illegal use of electronic benefit transfer cards.
