AN ACT CONCERNING UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION ELIGIBILITY AND TIME-SPECIFIC WORK ASSIGNMENTS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That chapter 567 of the general statutes be amended to provide that persons hired for employment for a specific time period shall not be eligible for unemployment benefits beyond the time period specified, except if such person's employment is terminated before the expiration of such time period, such person may qualify for unemployment benefits for the remainder of such time period if such person is otherwise eligible for such benefits. Statement of Purpose: To allow more unemployment benefit resources to be made available to claimants who have expectations of long-term employment.
