2626 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

2828 Section 1. Section 17b-607 of the general statutes is amended by adding subsection (d) as follows (Effective from passage):

3030 (NEW) (d) On and after July 1, 2015, the Commissioner of Rehabilitation Services shall, within available appropriations, provide loans pursuant to the terms described in subsection (a) of this section to communities of one hundred thousand or more persons for the purchase of vehicles equipped to transport a mobility-challenged senior citizen and his or her adaptive equipment, including, but not limited to, a walker, wheelchair or scooter. For purposes of this subsection, "mobility-challenged senior citizen" means a person sixty years of age and older who needs adaptive equipment to aid with mobility.
