AN ACT PROHIBITING CERTAIN INDEPENDENT EXPENDITURES OF POLITICAL COMMITTEES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 155 of the general statutes be amended to prohibit any independent expenditure from a political committee for the benefit of a candidate who was previously a solicitor for such political committee, provided such candidate was a solicitor for the preceding period of time equal to the term of office sought by such candidate.

Statement of Purpose: 

To limit certain independent expenditures from political committees to candidates.
