(NEW) (Effective from passage) (a) Notwithstanding any provision of title 9 of the general statutes, (1) in any municipality where the appointment of a registrar of voters is permitted by charter or special act, one nonpartisan registrar of voters may be so appointed, and (2) such appointment shall take effect upon a vacancy in the office of the registrars of voters or when a term of such office expires, whichever occurs first. | |
