AN ACT CONCERNING SERVICE PIPES OF WATER COMPANIES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2015) Upon application of a property owner to a water company, as defined in section 16-1 of the general statutes, to install a service pipe, as defined in section 16-262u of the general statutes, extending to such property owner's dwelling, the water company may approve such property owner's application if the service pipe (1) extends to not more than such property owner's dwelling, (2) is installed in a preexisting right-of-way that benefits either the water company, the property owner or both, and (3) complies with the water company's standards and specifications. 

 


This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:

Statement of Purpose: 

To allow property owners to install water service pipes to their dwelling.
