AN ACT CONCERNING OUTDOOR WOOD-BURNING FURNACES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 22a-174k of the general statutes be amended to provide that existing outdoor wood-burning furnaces that fail to meet current state standards cannot be operated between May sixteenth and September thirtieth of each year unless such furnaces are located at least five hundred feet from the nearest dwelling.

Statement of Purpose: 

To improve air quality by banning the use of noncompliant outdoor wood-burning furnaces during certain times of the year.
