AN ACT CONCERNING AN INCREASE TO THE PREVAILING WAGE LAWS FOR BOTH NEW CONSTRUCTION AND REMODELING.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 31-53 of the general statutes be amended to raise the threshold at which public works projects must abide by the prevailing wage laws to five million dollars for new construction as well as any remodeling, refinishing, refurbishing, rehabilitation, alteration or repair work.

Statement of Purpose: 

To provide real tax relief by prohibiting prevailing wage on low-cost projects.
