AN ACT CONCERNING STATE LIABILITY FOR INJURIES CAUSED BY DEFECTIVE HIGHWAYS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 13a-144 of the general statutes be amended to provide that an individual, who is injured as the result of a defective highway, shall provide written notice of such injury to the Commissioner of Transportation not later than six months after the date on which the injury occurred.

Statement of Purpose: 

To extend the written notice period of intent to sue the state for injuries sustained as the result of a defective highway from ninety days to six months.
