AN ACT PROVIDING AN INCOME TAX EXEMPTION TO MEMBERS OF THE ARMED FORCES AND VETERANS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 229 of the general statutes be amended to exempt from the state income tax (1) up to two thousand dollars of income for members of the armed forces and National Guard in active service, and (2) up to one thousand dollars of income for honorably discharged veterans and members of the National Guard. 

Statement of Purpose: 

To provide an income tax exemption to members of the armed forces and veterans.
