AN ACT CONCERNING A LIAISON FOR MINORITY BUSINESS ENTERPRISES, WOMEN'S BUSINESS ENTERPRISES AND DIVERSITY BUSINESS ENTERPRISES. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That title 32 of the general statutes be amended to establish a liaison position within the Department of Economic and Community Development to perform state-wide outreach to owners of minority business enterprises, women's business enterprises and diversity business enterprises and assist owners of such business enterprises with the establishment and growth of their businesses. The liaison shall coordinate the efforts and resources of the Department of Economic and Community Development, the Department of Administrative Services and the Department of Labor to provide said owners with business assistance including, but not limited to, financing options, bid applications and growth and hiring incentive programs. Statement of Purpose: To encourage and empower owners of minority business enterprises, women's business enterprises and diversity business enterprises to increase their participation and success in receiving state contracts.
