AN ACT CONCERNING GRANTS FOR PRIMARY CAMPAIGNS UNDER THE CITIZENS' ELECTION PROGRAM.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 157 of the general statutes be amended to require that a qualifying candidate's grant from the Citizens' Election Fund for a primary campaign shall be reduced by half if no other opposing candidate qualifies for any such grant.

Statement of Purpose: 

To reduce grants for primary campaigns when a candidate's opponents do not qualify for such a grant.
