AN ACT CONCERNING LOCAL BOARD OF EDUCATION BUDGETS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2016): Each board of education shall file a copy of the end of year school report required pursuant to section 10-227 of the general statutes with the town clerk in the municipality where the board of education is located. Such copy of the report and any revisions made thereto shall be filed with the town clerk not later than ten business days after the report and such revisions are submitted to the Commissioner of Education pursuant to said section. All special education expenses and information identifying individual students shall be redacted from such report and revisions.
Sec. 2. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2016) Notwithstanding any provision of the general statutes or any special act, municipal charter, home rule ordinance or other ordinance, a town board of finance established pursuant to section 7-340 of the general statutes may increase, decrease or eliminate any noneducational expense set forth in a proposed budget by a local board of education.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:
