2424 AN ACT CONCERNING THE PROVISION OF FOREIGN LANGUAGES INSTRUCTION TO YOUNG STUDENTS BY CERTAIN INSTRUCTORS.

2626 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

2828 That section 10-16b of the general statutes be amended to permit local and regional boards of education to offer foreign language instruction to students enrolled in preschool, kindergarten and elementary school; and further that, notwithstanding the provisions of chapter 166 of the general statutes, such foreign language instruction may be provided by instructors who are proficient in a foreign language but do not hold professional certification.
