AN ACT CONCERNING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A RECOVERY HIGH SCHOOL IN CONNECTICUT.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 164 of the general statutes be amended to establish a recovery high school that (1) is based on the model used in Massachusetts, and (2) receives funding from (A) grants for mental health and substance abuse treatment that support academics, counseling and peer support, and (B) the school district otherwise responsible for educating a student enrolled in the recovery high school.

Statement of Purpose: 

To establish a recovery high school in Connecticut to improve recovery rates of high school age youth who have been treated for addiction and discharged to the community by following the Massachusetts model.
