12	24		AN ACT CONCERNING BUSINESSES THAT CONSTRUCT TRAILERS WITH A GROSS VEHICLE WEIGHT RATING OF TEN THOUSAND POUNDS OR LESS.

14	26		Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

16	28		Section 1. Subdivision (48) of section 14-1 of the general statutes is repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective July 1, 2017):

18		-	(48) "Manufacturer" means (A) a person, whether a resident or nonresident, engaged in the business of constructing or assembling new motor vehicles of a type required to be registered by the commissioner, for operation upon any highway, except [a utility trailer] any trailer with a gross vehicle weight rating of ten thousand pounds or less, which [are~~] is~~ offered for sale in this state, or (B) a person who distributes new motor vehicles to new car dealers licensed in this state;
