AN ACT CONCERNING TUITION WAIVERS AT PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER EDUCATION FOR GOLD STAR FAMILY MEMBERS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That title 10a of the general statutes be amended to grant a tuition fee waiver for any resident of the state who is a parent, surviving spouse or dependent child of a person who was (1) killed in action while performing active military duty with the armed forces of the United States, and (2) a resident of the state.

Statement of Purpose: 

To provide free tuition at state public institutions of higher education for family members of men and women killed while serving in the military.
