AN ACT CONCERNING A TUITION WAIVER FOR FIRST RESPONDERS ATTENDING REGIONAL COMMUNITY-TECHNICAL COLLEGES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That subsection (d) of section 10a-77 of the general statutes be amended to provide a tuition waiver for up to two years to any person who is a first responder that has at least one year of active and honorable service as a first responder and a letter of recommendation from his or her supervisor.
Statement of Purpose:
To help recruit and retain young people who have demonstrated a dedication to public service through active duty as a first responder by providing a tuition waiver to the regional community-technical colleges.
