AN ACT REQUIRING HEALTH INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR FERTILITY PRESERVATION FOR INSUREDS DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to require health insurance coverage of fertility preservation procedures for any insured who (1) is at least eighteen years of age, and (2) has been diagnosed with cancer but has not started cancer treatment.

Statement of Purpose: 

To require health insurance coverage for fertility preservation for insureds diagnosed with cancer.
