AN ACT REQUIRING THE DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES TO MAKE CERTAIN REPORTS TO THE JUVENILE COURT.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 319 of the general statutes be amended to (1) require the Department of Children and Families to report to the Juvenile Court (A) within thirty days of a child entering into Department of Children and Families custody regarding the suitability of such child's foster parents and the status of their licenses, and (B) within sixty days of a child entering into Department of Children and Families custody regarding such child's treatment and education needs and a timetable for ensuring that such needs are met, and (2) permit the Juvenile Court to extend such reporting deadlines by fourteen days.

Statement of Purpose: 

To require timely reporting by the Department of Children and Families to the Juvenile Court.
