AN ACT ESTABLISHING A TAX CREDIT FOR MEDIUM-SIZED AND LARGE BUSINESSES THAT HIRE RECENT GRADUATES FROM HIGHER EDUCATION PROGRAMS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That title 12 of the general statutes be amended to establish a tax credit for medium-sized and large businesses in the state that hire individuals not later than two years after the date of their graduation from a higher education program, such credit being in an amount equal to a certain percentage of each individual's salary, capped at a fixed amount per employer, which may be claimed for the first three years of such individual's employment.

Statement of Purpose: 

To encourage the hiring of new graduates and the expansion of businesses in Connecticut.
