AN ACT CONCERNING THE DISTRIBUTION OF THE WRITTEN PARENTS' BILL OF RIGHTS FOR PARENTS OF CHILDREN RECEIVING SPECIAL EDUCATION SERVICES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That part V of chapter 164 of the general statutes be amended to require that the written bill of rights for parents of children receiving special education services, as described in section 10-76ll of the general statutes, be provided to the parent or guardian of a child receiving special education services when such parent or guardian receives the transition bill of rights, developed by the Department of Education, at a planning and placement team meeting.
Statement of Purpose:
To require that the written bill of rights for parents of children receiving special education services be included with the transition bill of rights given to all parents of special education students at a planning and placement team meeting.
