AN ACT RELEASING CERTAIN MUNICIPALITIES FROM LIABILITY FOR DAMAGES RESULTING FROM FIRE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 29-305 of the general statutes be amended to specify that a municipality shall not be liable for damages resulting from a fire in a building or facility contemplated in said section solely because such municipality's local fire marshal did not inspect such building or facility in the calendar year preceding such fire, if fifty thousand or more buildings or facilities located in such municipality are contemplated by said section.
Statement of Purpose:
To relieve municipalities with large numbers of buildings and facilities of the requirement of yearly fire inspections.
