AN ACT CONCERNING EXCEPTIONS TO THE PREVAILING WAGE REQUIREMENT IN PUBLIC WORKS PROJECTS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That subsection (h) of section 31-53 of the general statutes be amended to increase the prevailing wage threshold to four million dollars for total cost of work to be performed in connection with new construction of any public works project and to one million dollars for the total cost of work to be performed in connection with remodeling, refinishing, refurbishing, rehabilitation, alteration or repair of any public works project.

Statement of Purpose: 

To reduce municipal tax burdens by increasing the threshold amounts for public works projects under the prevailing wage statute.
