AN ACT EXPANDING THE RECESS REQUIREMENT FOR STUDENTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 10-221o of the general statutes be amended to require each child enrolled in a public preschool program and each student enrolled in grades kindergarten to grade eight, inclusive, to be entitled to thirty minutes of physical exercise each day, and that such physical exercise shall be outside if the weather allows.
Statement of Purpose:
To require thirty minutes of outdoor recess for the purpose of enhancing children's health, learning capacity and social skills.
