AN ACT REQUIRING THE PROVISION OF VACCINE PACKAGE
INSERTS AND VACCINE INFORMATION SHEETS TO A CHILD'S
PARENT OR GUARDIAN PRIOR TO ADMINISTERING A VACCINE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to require any health care 1
provider administering a vaccine to a child under the age of eighteen 2
to (1) provide the child's parent or guardian with the vaccine package 3
insert and vaccine information sheet prior to administering the 4
vaccine, and (2) when a health care provider will be administering a 5
vaccine after the birth of a child while the child is in the hospital, 6
provide the vaccine package insert and vaccine information sheet at 7
least twenty-four hours prior to administering the vaccine. 8
Statement of Purpose:
To require health care providers to provide all information regarding a
vaccine prior to a child's parent or guardian prior to administering the
vaccine.
