2020 AN ACT CONCERNING ME ETINGS OF BOARDS OF POLICE

2222 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2323 Assembly convened:

2525 Section 1. Section 7-275 of the general statutes is repealed and the 1
2626 following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective July 1, 2019): 2
2727 (a) The board of police commissioners shall elect one of its number 3
2828 to be chairman and one member to be clerk and shall hold regular 4
2929 meetings and keep records of the same. Meetings shall be held upon 5
3030 the call of the chairman or of a majority of the members of the board. A 6
3131 majority of the members of the board shall constitute a quorum. In the 7
3232 event of any vacancy upon the board, the board of selectmen shall 8
3333 have authority by majority vote to fill such vacancy until the next town 9
3434 election, at which election a member shall be elected for the unexpired 10
3535 portion of the term. 11
3636 (b) Notwithstanding any provision of a municipal charter or 12
3737 ordinance or special act, no town, city or borough may place 13
3838 requirements on the time or place of a meeting of a board of police 14
3939 commissioners other than as provided in the Freedom of Information 15 Committee Bill No. 5149
