2321 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General

26-Section 1. (NEW) (Effective January 1, 2020) On and after January 1, 1
27-2020, each initial, review or refresher training program for firefighters 2
28-of a municipal, state or volunteer fire department or emergency 3
29-medical services personnel, as defined in section 20-206jj of the general 4
30-statutes, shall include a course on techniques for handling incidents, 5
31-such as wandering, that involve juveniles with autism spectrum 6
32-disorder or nonverbal learning disorder if the curriculum for such 7
33-techniques is made available at no cost to the training provider from 8
34-(1) institutions of higher education, health care professionals or 9
35-advocacy organizations that are concerned with juveniles with autism 10
36-spectrum disorder or nonverbal learning disorder, or (2) a 11
37-collaboration of such institutions, professionals or organizations. 12

43-This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
