1122 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
1223 Assembly convened:

14-Section 1. Section 38a-490b of the general statutes is repealed and
15-the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective January 1, 2020):
16-Each individual health insurance policy providing coverage of the
17-type specified in subdivisions (1), (2), (4), (11) and (12) of section 38a-
18-469 delivered, issued for delivery, renewed, amended or continued in
19-this state shall provide coverage for hearing aids. [for children twelve
20-years of age or younger.] Such hearing aids shall be considered
21-durable medical equipment under the policy and the policy may limit
22-the hearing aid benefit to one [thousand dollars] hearing aid per ear
23-within a twenty-four-month period.
24-Sec. 2. Section 38a-516b of the general statutes is repealed and the
25-following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective January 1, 2020):
26-Each group health insurance policy providing coverage of the type
27-specified in subdivisions (1), (2), (4), (11) and (12) of section 38a-469
28-delivered, issued for delivery, renewed, amended or continued in this
29-state shall provide coverage for hearing aids. [for children twelve years
