19 | 19 | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General | |
20 | 20 | Assembly convened: | |

22 | 22 | That sections 29-37i, 52-571g, 53a-217a and 10-18b of the general 1 | |
23 | 23 | statutes be amended to provide that any firearm, whether loaded or 2 | |
24 | 24 | unloaded, needs to be safely stored when a minor up to eighteen years 3 | |
25 | 25 | of age, rather than sixteen years of age, may gain access to such 4 | |
26 | 26 | firearm, that if a person fails to safely store a firearm, such person shall 5 | |
27 | 27 | be strictly liable and criminally negligent in the case of an injury or 6 | |
28 | 28 | death caused by a minor up to eighteen years of age, rather than 7 | |
29 | 29 | sixteen years of age, and that the State Board of Education shall, rather 8 | |
30 | 30 | than may, develop a firearm safety curriculum guide for students. 9 | |
