AN ACT CONCERNING A WORK REQUIREMENT FOR RECIPIENTS 
OF PUBLIC ASSISTANCE. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That title 17b of the general statutes be amended to require able-1 
bodied adults without dependent children to work or volunteer for a 2 
minimum of twenty hours weekly to receive supplemental nutrition 3 
assistance, state-administered general assistance, Medicaid and other 4 
state-administered assistance. 5 
Statement of Purpose:   
To promote work among recipients of public assistance to improve 
their life prospects.
