AN ACT CONCERNING A "MOVE OVER" LAW FOR OIL AND GAS 
DELIVERY VEHICLES, GARBAGE TRUCKS AND RECYCLING 
TRUCKS. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That chapter 248 of the general statutes be amended to require 1 
motor vehicle operators to slow down or move over one lane when 2 
passing tank vehicles, as defined in section 14-1 of the general statutes, 3 
or commercial motor vehicles equipped with a garbage compactor, a 4 
detachable container or a curbside recycling body. 5 
Statement of Purpose:   
To increase public safety by requiring motorists to slow down or move 
over one lane when passing oil and gas delivery vehicles, garbage 
trucks and recycling trucks.
