30 | 30 | That the general statutes be amended to establish a three-year 1 | |
31 | 31 | period during which the distribution of single-use plastic carryout 2 | |
32 | 32 | bags is reduced by eighty per cent and retail establishments offer 3 | |
33 | 33 | reusable bags to consumers for a fee of not less than fifteen cents, the 4 | |
34 | 34 | proceeds of which are retained by the retailer. Additionally, after such 5 | |
35 | 35 | three-year period, no retailer may provide a customer with a plastic, 6 | |
36 | 36 | single-use carryout bag and any reusable bag offered by such retailer 7 | |
37 | 37 | to such customer shall be for a fee of not less than twenty-five cents. 8 | |
